Emergency Arts Council Funding for COVID19

Arts Council are making £160 million of emergency funding available for those organisations and individuals who will need it during this crisis, they have also changed the funding requirements for individuals and organisations currently in receipt of their funding, to help alleviate pressure as best they can.

Emergency funding package:

The Arts Council offer individuals and organisations working in the cultural sector new financial support during this crisis, totalling £160 million. They have re-purposed all investment strands to be able to offer this support. These emergency funding streams will be open to applications very soon.

Funding for organisations outside of the National Portfolio 

£50 million will be made available to organisations that are not in receipt of regular funding from the Arts Council. Organisations who have applied to National Lottery Project Grants are welcome to apply for this support. Learn more>

Funding for individuals

The Arts Council England want to support artists, creative practitioners and freelancers as best they can. They are making £20 million of financial support available to individuals, so they can better sustain themselves, and their work, in the coming months. Learn more>

Funding for National Portfolio Organisations 

£90 million will be available to NPOs. Organisations will be able to use this funding to reboot their creative work, but we also understand it may be required to alleviate financial pressures on NPOs. Learn more>

Additional Support:

If you are in receipt of funding from the Arts Council or taking part in one of their programmes, they have put in place a set of measures to help you deal with this crisis.  The government and other bodies are offering support during this period, for organisations and individuals.

UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £20 million to respond to new and urgent needs in UK and global communities during and following the Covid-19 pandemic. Learn more>

The Creative Growth Finance Debt Fund, in partnership with Triodos Bank UK, is a £24 million fund providing vital scale up finance to the UK’s most promising creative businesses. Creative England understands the needs of creative businesses. They know how difficult it is to access finance from traditional sources, especially during this time, and that in order to take your business to the next stage, you need a cash injection to make your growth plans a reality.
