Creative XPO

I recently attended the Creative XPO event organised by CIDA at Rich mix, billed as the one stop shop for creative business advice.

I attend a lot of business related events and not many really provide what they promise but I liked this event. It had a relaxed feel to it, perhaps a bit too relaxed in places – it was a bit unclear where everything/everyone was at points but it didn’t feel corporate… which was nice.

The delegates and exhibitors ranged from small independents to much larger and well branded organisations, there was support and business advice for those who wanted it and some great entertainment with live music and screenings of short films and Art – basically something for everyone.

I liked the ‘All things crowd funding’ session with Zequs and was shown the benefits of co-ops for creatives by London Co-ops. There were also various bodies there to help people obtain funding such as Creative Industry Finance and EN Start ups.

Overall great for networking and supporting the creatives in the area – if you missed it make sure you put it in the diary for next year.
